Paul Morella
Paul Morella has performed professionally in regional theatre, film, television and radio for over 38 years. For the past 17 years, he has toured with his one-person show, A Passion for Justice: An Encounter with Clarence Darrow, and his performance is widely considered to be the definitive characterization of the legendary attorney.
No stranger to lawyers, Mr. Morella received unanimous critical acclaim and a Helen Hayes Award nomination for his portrayal of Roy Cohn in both parts of Angels in America, and appeared as prosecuting attorney Horace Gilmer in the world premiere of To Kill A Mockingbird, as well as attorney Jarreld Schwabe opposite Julia Roberts in The Pelican Brief, among many others. A multiple Helen Hayes Award nominee, his extensive credits include more than 57 leading roles in over 115 professional productions, as well as 20 world premieres. He is a highly sought after trial consultant and oral advocacy trainer, and is a member of the faculty of the Washington College of Law, where he teaches the art of persuasion as part of the Trial Advocacy Program.

In addition to The Pelican Brief (directed by Alan J. Pakula), Mr. Morella has appeared in The Replacements (with Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman), The Hunley (with Armand Assante), That Night (with Juliet Lewis), Diner (directed by Barry Levinson), Liberty (with George Kennedy and Chris Sarandon), HBO’s The Wire, HBO’s The Corner, and recurring roles on Homicide: Life on the Street and The District (with Craig T. Nelson). He also has portrayed three felons and two victims on the Fox television series America’s Most Wanted, and was chosen by host John Walsh as one of only three actors to be featured on their special 700th capture episode. Other television credits include A Man Called Hawk, Lime Street, Unsolved Mysteries, PBS Frontline, The Discovery Channel, and numerous daytime serials. He has been featured on-camera in more than 200 industrial films, and is presently the on-camera narrator for the military’s ongoing Casualty Assistance Training and Notification program, as well as for the U.S. Postal Service.

An honors graduate of Washington and Lee University, Mr. Morella received his MFA (Acting) from Catholic University. He is a vested lifetime member of Actors’ Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild.
